Clement, The So-called Second Epistle of S. Clement, The Epistle of Barnabas, and The Shepherd of Hermas. The person who wrote the Introduction dislikes the title because, to him, it suggests that these writings were once a part of the New Testament but later ejected for various reasons. The translator places the books listed in this volume into two categories. The first is Apocryphal in that added information of Jesus given. The second is a treatise in the form of a letter and of highest historical value.
